Tell Kentucky Lawmakers to Stop PIP Fraud that Increases Costs for Consumers

Kentucky’s personal injury protection (PIP) is being abused by unscrupulous medical providers that overcharge for health care services. The current PIP system presumes every medical bill is reasonable, which limits insurers’ ability to question the price or necessity of a PIP medical claim.

As a result, PIP medical expenses are increasing, leading to higher claims costs which puts an upward pressure on auto insurance premiums for all drivers in the state, regardless of whether they had a claim. Without reform, costs for Kentuckians—as well as insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid—will continue to rise. Help us call on Kentucky lawmakers to pass HB 416 and help curb PIP abuse that hurts consumers.
