Overview
ERIE Insurance maintains two Political Action Committees (PACs): ERIE-PAC and ERIE-PAC-FED. These committees support the company’s government relations efforts by making political contributions in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
The insurance industry operates within a highly regulated environment, with legislative and regulatory decisions affecting insurers, policyholders, and the broader marketplace. Political Action Committees are one way organizations participate in the political process by supporting candidates and organizations involved in public policy.
About Political Action Committees
Political Action Committees (PACs) are organizations that collect voluntary contributions from eligible participants and use those funds to make political contributions, as permitted by law. PACs are commonly established by corporations, labor organizations, trade associations, and membership organizations.
There are thousands of federally registered PACs in the United States representing a wide range of industries, professions, and interests.
ERIE-PAC and ERIE-PAC-FED

Since 1982, ERIE Insurance has maintained ERIE-PAC and ERIE-PAC-FED to support candidates whose public policy positions relate to issues affecting the insurance industry.
- ERIE-PAC is a state political action committee that supports candidates for state and local office in Pennsylvania.
- ERIE-PAC-FED is a federal political action committee that supports federal candidates as well as candidates for state and local office outside Pennsylvania, consistent with applicable campaign finance laws.
Contributions to both PACs are voluntary and are subject to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Purpose
The insurance industry is subject to extensive state and federal regulation. Legislative and regulatory decisions can influence the business environment in which insurers operate. ERIE’s PACs are part of the company’s broader government relations program, which seeks to monitor public policy developments and engage with elected officials on issues relevant to the insurance industry.
PAC contributions are one component of this engagement and are made in accordance with established governance processes and applicable campaign finance laws.
