Insurance & Policy Podcast Series: Why Engagement Matters
The decisions made by elected officials and regulators impact the property and casualty insurance industry every day. From elections and legislative priorities to legal system abuse and regulatory challenges, public policy shapes the environment in which insurers operate.
To help members better understand these issues and the role engagement plays in advancing our industry’s priorities, The PE team’s Bethany Dame and Bridget Sewell present an exclusive three-part Insurance and Policy Podcast series discussing the 2026 political moment, its implications for the property and casualty insurance industry, and how we can each positively impact our advocacy priorities.

- Episode 1: The Political Map. Political strategist Jim Ellis examines how the November elections could impact the property and casualty insurance industry, analyzing the fight for Congress, key state races, redistricting, and economic trends shaping the political landscape.
- Episode 3: Protecting APCIA Members and Consumers. Adam Shores, APCIA Senior Vice President of State Government Relations, discusses the cost of legal system abuse and why APCIA’s adaptive advocacy and sustained political engagement are critical to advancing meaningful reform.
- Episode 2: Get In the Game. Tony Trenzeluk, Managing Director of Government Affairs at Sentry, explains why political risk is business risk and how industry engagement strengthens advocacy and policy outcomes.
