Tell Your Delegate to OPPOSE SB 754

SB 754 is a solution in search of a problem—and a bad solution at that. The bill would completely rewrite Virginia’s definition of “underinsured” when determining uninsured motorist (UIM) coverage, which could increase every Virginian’s UIM premium by up to two thirds per vehicle beginning July 1, 2022. This increase would be on top of the rate increase already experienced by a number of Virginians on January 1, 2022.

SB 754 could also significantly increase the number of claims that qualify for UIM coverage and increase claim loss costs, causing auto insurance rates for Virginia consumers and businesses to rise again.
