The Delaware General Assembly is currently considering SB 231, which could have a widespread, negative impact on consumers across the state—especially for women drivers.
If passed, this legislation would prohibit the use of gender as a rating factor for insurance pricing, removing the ability of insurers to provide premiums based on actual risk for many policyholders. Removing the ability of Delaware insurers to identify lower-risk policyholders will limit consumer choice and eliminate an important tool that has benefitted consumers for decades.
Join industry leaders and others in speaking out against this harmful, though well-intentioned legislation and tell your legislators to focus on passing real solutions that help make insurance more affordable and equitable. Review and send a letter to your legislators today.
