Third-party litigation financing (TPLF)—also known as “lawsuit lending”—increases the possibility of frivolous lawsuits and threatens to drive up the costs of a range of products, services, and insurance across Arizona. It also poses a national and economic security risk by allowing adversarial governments to invest in U.S. litigation without disclosing it.
This practice needs to be reasonably regulated just like any other form of lending. Help us call on lawmakers in Arizona to pass the Litigation Investment Safeguards and Transparency Act (SB 1215) to ensure transparency, protect litigants, and safeguard national security against foreign influence in our courts.
