The New Jersey Legislature is considering S-4499, harmful legislation that would allow trial lawyers to name insurance carriers instead of the at-fault individual(s) in a lawsuit, despite decades of court decisions in New Jersey (and nationally) that repeatedly state this information is prejudicial to the defendant and irrelevant to the case.
This overreaching proposal would likely lead to increased litigation, increased costs and higher insurance premiums for hardworking New Jerseyans, many of whom have already been struggling with rising costs for years. This bill is bad for consumers, bad for insurers, and bad for New Jersey.
Help us ask lawmakers to stop this legislation before it can do real harm. Please review and send a message to your lawmakers today.
